City officials in Nashville Tennessee are in hot water after leaked emails show they covered up Covid-19 cases from the highly traveled section known as Broadway. It turns out that the case numbers from this area, where most of Nashville’s tourism comes from, had a much lower amount of cases than what city officials claimed. Emails between a senior advisor in the Mayor’s office and a city health official paint a disturbing picture of their deceit and cover up from the public. The chatter between these two city officials shows how the cases coming out of this popular bar and restaurant are show were low, and how to deal with this.
The worst part of all of this, was their willingness to hide the truth from the people paying their salaries!
Seen here, the disturbing, and sickening back and forth between Leslie Waller of the Nashville Health Department, and Benjamin Eagles of the Mayors office talk about how “This isn’t going to be publicly released, right?” and “Correct, This isn’t for Public Consumption.”
Nashville City Council Member Steve Glover requested from the Mayors office on the authenticity of the Emails, their official response was “I was able to get from the Mayor’s Office and the Department of Health that these emails are real.” This information came from a City staff Attorney within the Nashville City Council.
He went onto say this is Metro Nashville orchestrating a cover up.
“They are fabricating information,” Glover said. “They’ve blown there entire credibility. Its gone, I don’t trust a thing they say going forward …nothing.”
Councilmen Glover has been contacted non stop by Business owners, and their employees asking why the City won’t release the real numbers coming from their places of work.
“We raised taxes 34 percent and put hundreds literally thousands of people out of work that are now worried about losing their homes, their apartments…and we did it on bogus data. That should be illegal,” Glover said.
City officials were pressed on the low number of cases a short time ago during a press conference by a reporter from the Tennessean, Nate Rau, asking “The figure you gave of ‘more than 80’ does lead to a natural question: If there have been over 20,000 positive cases of COVID-19 in Davidson and only 80 or so are traced to restaurants and bars, doesn’t that mean restaurants and bars aren’t a very big problem?”
Health Department Official Brian asked 5 different Health officials “Please advise how you recommend I respond. ”
What is the City of Nashville and their health officials trying to hide? If there truly are no major issues from the bars and restaurants downtown, why go through all this trouble to keep them closed? I also spoke to several locals who have said they feel the City Council does not have their best interest at hand.
