They refuse to see what the non-Kool Aid drinkers picked up on a long time ago. And it’s showing in the polls.
A poll released this weekend shows President Donald Trump, a significant lead over the Democrats’ presumptive nominee former Vice President Joe Biden in virtually all of the battleground states.
The survey, from the Democracy Institute shows Trump is currently projected to win 309 electoral votes—more than he did in 2016.
“Crucially, President Trump has a lead of 48 percent to 43 percent in the swing states Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin which would put him back in the White House with an electoral college tally of 309 to Biden’s 229,” according to David Maddox whose newspaper commissioned the poll.
Only a few weeks ago a Fox News push poll had Biden leading the president in battleground states by double digits. What happened?
As we get closer to the election voters are paying more attention and what they’re seeing is a president who is fully engaged and a challenger who emerges from his basement bunker to deliver a few gaff-filled comments before going back into hiding.
There are no probative Q and A’s with reporters. Voters see this as a confirmation of Biden’s increasing mental infirmity, a point President Trump has been hammering home over the past month…
But Trump was only continuing a theme started by Biden’s Democrat challengers during the debates.
Following a September debate Fox News recapped it this way:
Former Vice President Joe Biden came under sustained and withering fire Thursday when fellow Democrats renewed their attacks on his age, memory and alleged rambling…
… Former Housing Secretary Julian Castro, who served in the Obama administration with Biden, landed arguably the lowest blow when he swiped at Biden’s memory — accusing him of contradicting himself on whether Americans would have to buy into his health care plan.
“You just said two minutes ago they would have to buy in. Are you forgetting what you said two minutes ago?” Castro asked, in what appeared to be a reference to past senior moments by Biden…
Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., publicly backed Castro after the debate and raised further questions about Biden’s ability to carry the banner for the Democrats into 2020.
“I think we are at a tough point right now, because there’s a lot of people concerned about Joe Biden’s ability to carry the ball all the way across the end line without fumbling,” Booker told CNN in an interview. “And I think that Castro had really legitimate concerns about can he be someone in a long grueling campaign… and has every right to call out.”
Since that debate, and the video above, Biden appears to have slipped even further.
So much so that Democrats from around the country have begun to pressure the Biden campaign to call off all debates with Donald Trump and to use the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse.
I shouldn’t have to remind you, but if Biden were to somehow win, he will not be able to continue hiding… the world keeps spinning.
