Opinion| If you were in a coma for five years and woke up today, you would not recognize this country, never mind the left coast, especially the city of Seattle.
The government of Seattle is now unrecognizable to the average American, at least to this average American.
Seattle’s latest move would have been considered impossible to comprehend in modern day America.
I’m guessing that you remember the temporary barriers that the CHAZ, now called CHOP, ‘protesters’ surrounded their 6 square blocks with.
They had even been using overturned dumpsters and fencing partitioning off the area.
David Harris Jr’s site and author Steven Ahle is reporting that Seattle ‘has had the city replace the ragtag barriers with new concrete barriers to keep people out of CHOP.
It has reduced its area from six square blocks to just three.
They put barriers in place in such a way to open up the streets for traffic through then area and in exchange, CHOP [seemingly has] undisputed control of their occupation.
I hope the voters see and understand that the Democratic party has thrown their support for then rioters, not only in Seattle but throughout the county.’

City Council Member Kshama Sawant said:
“Many of us have witnessed it; many of us have experienced it. They falsely claimed that the protesters were violent rioters and that they had no alternative. … They even attempted to maintain those lies in the face of videos showing the police were the source — and the sole source — of the violence.”

Seattle police have pulled back from the neighborhood and abandoned the department’s East Precinct.
Protesters painted over the word “Police” on the building and replaced it with “People.”
Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best blamed the takeover on city officials.
“You fought for days to protect it,” Best told her officers in a video released last week. “I asked you to stand on that line, day in and day out — to be pelted with projectiles, to be screamed at, threatened and in some cases hurt.”
“Ultimately, the city had other plans for the building and relented to severe public pressure.”
