Opinion| Lawrence David| The sum total of President Trump’s incoming National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s December 29, 2016 phone conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was nothing more than… “We need cool heads to prevail.”
This was as close as Lt. General Flynn came to discussing the sanctions imposed by outgoing President Barack Obama on Russia… ostensibly for meddling in the U.S. election.
Proof of the charges against Russia for meddling is disappearing as quickly as the case against Gen. Flynn thanks to former Director of National Intelligence Ricahrd “Ric” Grenell’s decision to declassify key documents that reveal zero hard evidence existed of Russia’s involvement in the hack of the DNC server.
Yet, despite lacking any evidence, Obama insisted on pursuing the case against Russia. Our Manchurian president was intent on laying the groundwork for a dangerous impasse in U.S.-Russia relations in order to create a pretext for the soft coup of President Trump that ensued.
But I digress…
Transcripts of the wire-tapped Flynn-Kislyak conversations, declassified by outgoing DNI Grenell, were made public by new DNI John Ratcliffe. They show that Lt. General Flynn represented the interests of U.S. policy from both the outgoing Obama administration and incoming Trump administration.
The FBI case agents investigating Gen. Flynn realized that in performing his duties as the incoming NSA, had used the appropriate level of engagement with the Russian ambassador and, on January 4, 2017, recommended closing the investigation of Lt. General Flynn.

That didn’t deter the “seventh floor” from overriding their field agents and taking it upon themselves to criminalize a perfectly appropriate conversation against Flynn.
Flynn was a former Defense Intelligence Agency chief who had been fired for policy disagreements with Obama, because he knew where all of Obama’s skeletons were buried. You do the math…
Flynn’s takedown would also serve as a foundational element in the larger case to remove President Trump.
To create the aura of wrongdoing, it was decided that because releasing transcripts of the calls between Flynn and Kislyak would expose their corrupt construct, FBI “analysts” would create summaries (CR cuts) of the calls that would not accurately reflect the calls’ content…
Compare the summaries with the full transcripts for yourself…
It’s likely that since Grenell has declassified the Flynn-Kislyak transcripts, then it’s likely he’s also declassified dozens of other transcripts – perhaps to include those the former administration and politicians did not expect he could recover, and did not want to see released.
