LAS VEGAS — Democrat Governor Steve Sisolak announced on Tuesday that he will be ordering all casinos in the state of Nevada to remain closed for 30 days in response to the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. and across the globe, KSNV reports.
The Governor ordered the month-long freeze on gambling, shutting down everything from the famous casino resorts to slot machines found in convenience stores, cutting off an industry that fuels the state’s tourism and hospitality-powered economy.
Sisolak’s broad directive also includes the month-long closure of non-essential businesses like bars, movie theaters and gyms. Restaurants must close their dining rooms and only offer takeout or delivery, Market Watch reports.
Per the Governor:
“Only essential services should remain open, such as fire, police, transit and healthcare services, in addition to businesses that provide food, shelter or social services for disadvantaged populations. Nonessential services such as beauty shops, barbershops, nail, tanning, waxing salons should close until further notice. Only essential businesses should remain open, such as pharmacies, grocery stores, drug and convenience stores, banks and financial institutions, hardware stores, and gas stations. All gatherings should be postponed or canceled. This is not the time for sleepovers, play dates, concerts, theater outings or athletic events. Although you might not be experiencing symptoms at this time, you may be contagious. Do not risk your health or the health of others.”
Millions of people around the nation are being laid off due to the Virus Pandemic and the government emergency fund programs are very frustrating to sift through to find out exactly where to go to start the process for emergency funds. I highly encourage people to check their states unemployment websites, some have set-up a covid-19 emergency page for you to fill out provides links to other programs.

It is hard to imagine life going dark in cities all around the nation, but here we are. Not only a surreal moment in history for America’s iconic gambling epicenter, but a very real heart-breaking moment in the United States as well as globally.
If people are not paying attention to everything going on and are still thinking this is nothing and an over-reaction, then they are not looking on the world with sober eyes.
