New Video Of Amy Klobuchar Surfaces And It’s About To ROCK Her Campaign, Libs Livid

Old clip of 2020 ‘moderate’ Klobuchar shows her calling for border ‘fence’ and ‘order’ to combat illegal immigration

What a difference a couple of years make — and a presidential campaign…

(TNS) Following the New Hampshire Democratic primary earlier this week, 2020 presidential contender Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar emerged in much better shape than many expected.

It didn’t take long for the vapid, witless mainstream media to deem her rise “Klobmentum” — ‘Klobuchar’ + ‘Momentum.’

How clever.

In any event, it’s now more likely that Klobuchar’s New Hampshire bump will be short-lived after the radical Leftists who are quickly taking over her party hear that earlier this millennium, when Democrats were still rational about border security, she actually backed the Bush administration’s efforts to build 700 miles of border “fence” along the U.S.-Mexico boundary, as well as other immigration-related initiatives that any sane lawmaker concerned about the integrity of American soil would support.

Fox News notes:

Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., the 2020 presidential candidate, once called for a fence at the southern border and for the U.S. to stop giving “amnesty” to companies that hire illegal immigrants – as part of a plan to restore “order at the border.”

The recently unearthed clip from a 2006 Minnesota Senate debate shows Klobuchar using language that would now seem out of style with many in the modern Democratic Party – who place a strong emphasis on reducing enforcement and downplaying the distinction between legal and illegal immigration.

“I do believe that we need more resources at the border and that includes a fence,” she said in response to a question about whether she supported the new fence construction. “We have people waiting to come in legally, thousands of people waiting to come in legally to this country and we have people coming in illegally – that’s not right.”

“We need to get order at the border,” she added.

Congress passed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 on a bipartisan vote, a piece of legislation that called for building the fence. But when Democrats took control of the House two years later — Obama’s first few years in office — they defunded the legislation.

Klobuchar had more rational things to say about immigration enforcement generally.

“We also have to stop giving amnesty to companies that are hiring illegal immigrants. Under this administration the number of prosecutions of companies has gone way down – that has to change,” she noted.

The Minnesota Democrat also called for a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants already in the country. But that “pathway includes a demand that illegal immigrants learn English – something that many Democratic lawmakers today would balk at,” Fox News noted.

‘Balk at’ is an understatement. And if any candidate called for that in public today at a rally, he or she would likely be attacked by Antifa domestic terrorists.

“Finally, I believe we need to give people who have been in this country for a number of years, who are willing to pay their taxes, who are willing to learn English, who are willing to pay the fines the chance for earned citizenship,” she goes on to say.

To her credit, Klobuchar still opposes some of the more radical Left-wing policies being espoused by other 2020 Democrats including Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders, all of whom either want to dismantle the border wall altogether, decriminalize illegal border crossings, or both.

“I support different enforcement priorities and of course I’ll look at the statute to see if you can make changes depending on the level of a security risk, but, no, I don’t support open borders and simply getting rid of this statute,” Klobuchar told ABC’s “This Week” in July.

On the same program in November 2018, she came out in favor of negotiating with Trump for wall funding as part of a broader immigration reform deal and to avoid a government shutdown, Fox News added.

“We have the will to put money at the border for better security and combine it with sensible reforms … but he has chosen instead to weaponize this and to politicize it,” she said.
