Shifty Schiff Just Managed To Tick Off GOP Moderate RINO’s With His “Head On Pike” Lie

Schiff managed to tick off even GOP Senate ‘moderates’ with his ‘head on a pike’ lie

In a city full of liars, Adam Schiff stands out…

By Tank Murdoch

(TNS) Lead House impeachment manager Adam Schiff won plaudits and praise from fellow Democrats and an adoring propaganda media, but he certainly hasn’t won many friends in the Republican-controlled Senate.

As a Washington Times analysis noted Saturday, there were many reasons why Schiff was one of the worst choices Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi could have made to be an impeachment manager, chief among them the fact that he is simply Incapable of honesty.

And in a town filled with people incapable of honesty, even he sticks out.

During his presentations this past week during Democrats’ 24-hour period to present their case, Schiff made a number of factually incorrect statements, but one in particular stuck out among Republicans: He claimed that the President Donald Trump threatened GOP senators their “head on a pike” if they voted against him.

Fox News reported:

“CBS News reported last night that a Trump confidant said that key senators were warned, ‘Vote against the president and your head will be on a pike.’ I don’t know if that’s true,” Schiff said, while trying to persuade his Senate colleagues to vote with “moral courage” rather than in their political self-interest.

Claiming not to know whether or not the statement ‘was true’ is typically Schiff: He knows there is no way for anyone to fact-check him.

Except, of course, Republican senators to whom he was speaking. They would know whether or not they’d been ‘warned’ and apparently, they weren’t because even GOP “moderates” were incensed at the suggestion.

In fact, many GOP senators could be heard from the floor saying that’s not true, including both Sen. Susans Collins (R-Maine) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), two of the moderates Democrats were supposedly trying to woo into supporting the calling of witnesses, so the trial could really turn into a clown show.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), one of the most partisan Dems in the chamber, even seemed to get that Schiff’s insinuation was pretty dumb.

Put another way, perhaps Murphy wanted to ask Pelosi why the House strategy involved hyper-partisan hacks as managers who played to the TV cameras and the TV audience, which dwindled by the day, instead of to potentially sympathetic Republican senators.

Oh, and congratulations to CBS News for winning the ‘fake news of the week’ award.
