Major Development In Durham’s SpyGate Investigation According To New Report

Adm. Mike Rogers’ cooperation with Durham ‘most important development’ in Spygate case: DiGenova

By Jon Dougherty

(TNS) In April when Washington insiders were making assessments about what Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz would say in his FISA abuse report — as well as when it would actually drop — one name that was mentioned as being tied to the investigation was former National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers.

At the time, former federal prosecutor and consummate political insider Joe diGenova noted that Rogers was instrumental in tipping off Team Trump to the fact that the deep state had the campaign under surveillance at Trump Tower, leading the president-elect to move his transition team to a ‘friendly’ environment in New Jersey.

Calling Rogers a “real hero,” diGenova said that the then-NSA director secreted to Trump Tower just weeks after the 2016 election to inform the newly elected president of the coup attempt that was underway. DiGenova said Rogers had also gone to the FISA Court and told them who the culprits were (not that it’s done any good; the FISA Court has thus far elected not to hold anyone at the FBI legally accountable for lying about Carter Page, the Steele Dossier, and the president’s non-existent “Russian collusion”).

Within days, the Washington Post reported that “James Clapper and Defense Secretary Ash Carter had recommended the removal of Mike Rogers from his NSA position,” though he was never fired (for obvious reasons; not only was Trump on his way in, but firing Rogers so close to the transition would have set off heap big red flags).

By the way, as we also reported, House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes became aware of the information that Rogers had, per closed-door testimony in the spring of 2017, when he was still chairman.

DiGenova is still on the Rogers bandwagon. In a Christmas Eve interview with WMAL radio station (audio is below), the former federal prosecutor explained how the FBI’s efforts to cover up its spying brought us “Crossfire Hurricane.”

After Rogers discovered it and reported it to the FISA Court, said “she” stopped it (we assume “she” refers to FISC Judge Rosemary Collyer), diGenova said. He says adds that it led to the “crescendo of activity by Comey, Clapper, and Brennan. It led to the so-called Crossfire Hurricane investigation to cover-up the previous spying that had been going on.”

DiGenova noted further:

Rogers has an electronic trail of all the spying that went on over five years. He has personal notes – like Jim Comey – only this time they are not self-serving notes, they are the truth…I have described Mike Rogers as the Rosetta Stone of this investigation…I can be fairly confident now in saying there will be a substantial criminal conspiracy indictment against a lot of people with the electronic spying.

That electronic spying that went on from 2012 through 2016 into NSA databases was used for unmasking people and then leaking that information to the press.

Asked if that included the unmasking by Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice and his AG Loretta Lynch, diGenova said “yes.”

He then shifted to a controversial press conference by Nunes in March 2017 (Trump had barely been inaugurated), where the then-chairman was heavily criticized by Democrats and their buds in the establishment media.

DiGenova explained that Nunes had just returned from the National Security Council where he saw loads of evidence that the Obama regime was spying on Team Trump.

He said what Nunes saw “were spreadsheets which had been produced by the White House of the intercepts, the illegal NSA intercepts, and on it were the names of people, telephone numbers, to and from information, which led to the unmaskings. That’s what this is all about. It is truly remarkable that we have finally gotten here.”

By the way, Nunes discussed all of this with Dan Bongino on Tuesday (audio here).

DiGenova was also asked if he thought that FISA Judge Collyer was doing enough in response to the revelations contained in DoJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on massive FBI abuses of her court.

In short…no:

This is too little, too late. This is grandstanding and save your ass kind of stuff by a federal judge. There should have been contempt hearings before the FISA Court already. She didn’t have to wait. She knew everything. She knew back in 2018 that there was illegal spying. She knew she’d been lied to in the Carter Page affidavit. She knew that the assistant attorney general for the National Security Division, John Carlin, had filed false annual certifications of compliance with minimization standards on 702 databases about Americans.

Let’s remember what this scandal is about…This is about spying on American citizens with no basis whatsoever. We now know the spying on Carter Page was completely baseless. He had nothing to do with the Russians. He was cooperating with the CIA. He was never charged with a crime…

As a result of this 702 database illegal spying by FBI contractors from 2012 through 2016, where they access telephones, emails, text message databases on Americans, not foreign nationals. Thousands of Americans were spied on. What did Judge Collyer do about it? Nothing.

Now, I want to see every one of those five judges up there on Capitol Hill in a hearing. They need to testify about the Carter Page warrant.

When they saw in that first warrant there was a political organization involved in opposition research, that warrant should have been stopped right there.

Before Christmas, Nunes told Fox News’ Martha McCallum that he wrote to the FISA Court twice to inform those judges what he had discovered regarding the FBI’s fraudulent claims. Again, they have done nothing.

One final point: DiGenova reminded the audience that Rogers has met several times with U.S. Attorney John Durham, who is conducting a criminal probe of the origins of the Spygate scandal.
