Sickening: FBI Director Chris Wray defends bureau’s launch of ‘Spygate’ as non-political, though AG Barr and Attorney Durham disagree
Now is not the time to be politically correct
(TNS) On Monday following the release of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s long-awaited report on suspected abuses by James Comey’s FBI of the FISA court, the bureau’s current director, Christopher Wray, made sure to be politically correct.
Asked by ABC News if Horowitz’s conclusion that the “Spygate” probe into the 2016 Trump campaign was properly authorized and apolitical, Wray said that it was, citing Horowitz’s conclusions.
“I think it’s important for the American people to know that when the FBI opens an investigation, it does so with proper predication, with proper authorization, based on the law and the facts and nothing else,” Wray said.
“I think it’s important that the Inspector General found that, in this particular instance, the investigation was opened with appropriate predication and authorization.”

In a word, what a crock.
Anyone with a pair of brain cells to rub together knows that Comey, under the auspices of President Obama, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former DNI James Clapper, gathered his best politicized deep state operatives and launched an investigation into the Trump campaign based on a fabrication: “Russian collusion.”
Everyone who’s fair-minded knows that. The evidence that’s been reported thus far makes this crystal clear to anyone except the most blatant Left-wing partisan.
But don’t take our word for it. Take U.S. Attorney John Durham’s word — the official who is now conducting a criminal investigation into Spygate’s origins.
It wouldn’t be a criminal probe unless Durham had found evidence of a crime, which in and of itself suggests the investigation wasn’t “properly predicated and authorized.”
I have the utmost respect for the mission of the Office of Inspector General and the comprehensive work that went into the report prepared by Mr. Horowitz and his staff. However, our investigation is not limited to developing information from within component parts of the Justice Department.
Our investigation has included developing information from other persons and entities, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. Based on the evidence collected to date, and while our investigation is ongoing last month we advised the Inspector General that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened.
But don’t just take his word for it. Attorney General William Barr also agrees that what took place during the Obama administration in its targeting of the Trump campaign was improper and scandalous.
He said the IG report “now makes clear that the FBI launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken.”
What, then, is Wray talking about? He has to know what Comey & Co. did.
Now is not the time for PC answers to the Garbage Party press, which they will use to justify excusing what a Democrat president did.
It’s time to call a crime and crime and arrest some people.
