Just Some Speculation, Opinion and Analysis Of Events By Our Baish| It has been reported by Reuters that United States congressional Democrats are getting ready to look into allegations that President Donald Trump was involved with “hush-money payments to women who say they had affairs with him.”

Via Reuters:

The House of Representatives Judiciary Committee is preparing to hold hearings and request testimony from people involved in the 2016 payments to adult-film star Stormy Daniels and ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal as soon as October, the newspaper reported, citing people familiar with the plans.

Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty last year to charges that the payoffs amounted to illegal campaign contributions.

Trump, who has denied the affairs, said he never directed Cohen to do anything illegal.

The committee, which is led by Democrats, is thinking of using David Pecker, chairman and chief executive of American Media Inc, as a possible witness. American Media Inc. is the publisher of the popular National Enquirer tabloid newspaper.

According to Reuters, “AMI admitted in a non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors that it made a $150,000 payment to McDougal ‘in concert’ with Trump’s presidential campaign.”

“No campaign violations were engaged in by the president,” stated Jay Sekulow, attorney for President Trump, reported the Post.

Reuters was not able to get in contact with the White House for comment.

More from the Washington Times:

House Democrats reportedly plan to expand their impeachment probe into Ken Starr territory — investigating sexual-misconduct charges against President Trump for the seeds of possible criminal actions.

Citing “people familiar with the plans who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal discussions,” the Washington Post reported Monday evening that Congressional investigators will look into whether Mr. Trump played a role in paying off two women in 2016 for their silence about the purported affairs.

Democrats feel that Trump may be named as a “co-conspirator in a case that had led to guilty pleas by former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, though federal prosecutors declined to take the case further,” according to the Times’ report.

Cohen who, “… pleaded guilty to eight counts total, including … one count of making a false statement to a financial institution,” according to the Hill, testified, while under oath, that Trump had told him to make the payments to the two women.  Prosecutors stated that this “constituted an illegal campaign-finance contribution. Mr. Trump and his aides have given wildly varying statements about whether he knew about or even directed the payments,” the Times explains.

“The fingerprints are all over this one — it’s not like a big mystery,” Democratic Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin said to the Post. “As with the evidence of presidential obstruction of justice, the conclusion seems inescapable: that [Mr. Trump] would have been tried had he been anybody else. And now it’s left to Congress again to figure out what to do with the lawbreaking and apparent impunity of the president.”

So the same Democrats who thought prosecuting then President Clinton for lying under oath about having sexual relations with a 20 something year old female staffer in the oval office, are now trying to go after Trump for similar acts BEFORE he was President.  Is that not interesting ….

Unbelievable.
