Democrat presidential hopeful Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke turned to gun control rhetoric Saturday before the details of the shooting incidents in Midland/Odessa, Texas, were known, Breitbart reports.
The random shooting rampage on Saturday left seven dead, authorities said Sunday.
Odessa police spokesman Steve LeSueur said that at least one person remains in “life-threatening” condition, The Associated Press reported.
Nineteen other persons were injured as a result of the shooting spree in Odessa and Midland that began after a traffic stop, authorities said. Officers killed the gunman outside a movie theater in Odessa after a pursuit, Fox News reports.
Our hearts are with Midland, Odessa, and everyone in West Texas who has to endure this again. More information is forthcoming, but here’s what we know: We need to end this epidemic.

Before Chief Gerka’s press conference, and therefore prior to any details on the number of innocents wounded, type of firearm used, motive behind the shootings, etc., O’Rourke tweeted about the “epidemic” of gun violence.
Democrats voiced frustration over their blocked gun-control agenda after Saturday’s shootings in West Texas, with one 2020 presidential candidate tweeting the situation was “f—ed up.”
“We’re averaging about 300 mass shootings a year, no other country comes close — so yes, this is f—ed up,” Beto told CNN. “And if we don’t call it out for what it is… then we will continue to have this kind of bloodshed in America.”
CNN failed to bleep it live but this is the edited version:
The Democrats are already using this tragedy to push for a Federal Red Flag Law and the sheep are so afraid, so they do not care about freedoms or rights, all they believe is the laws will protect them.
ERPOs open up a Pandora’s Box of ways for cunning lawyers and conniving family members to exploit gun owners.
Red flag ERPO bills have been written so broadly on two fronts that in some instances, people are given near-endless possibilities by which to use the legal system to persecute gun owners.
Some ERPO bills restrict those who can report “high risk” individuals to family and law-enforcement, whereas some laws would expand the list to allow just about anybody to accuse.
The list of what violations you can be reported for is all over the place. If you drank beer one night, and someone took that the wrong way or thought you were out of control, they could take that to court. If someone was in your house and felt your guns were not stored properly, it could be grounds for a report. If you made a comment to someone or seemed depressed, virtually raising any type of “mental health” red flag could end with you battling for your Second Amendment rights in court.
