We were right: Trump’s July 4th speech on Fox News drew historic viewership numbers

We knew it. Well, we were pretty sure we knew it. But it turns out we were right; we knew it.
On July 5 we speculated that the so-called ‘mainstream’ media was suppressing viewership numbers for POTUS Donald Trump’s July 4 “Salute to America” event which was broadcast on Fox News (and, we were later informed, on One America News Network as well).
We speculated as much because the Left-wing media establishment despises this president and attempts to portray everything he does as wrongheaded, stupid, a failure, unpopular, etc., when in the vast majority of cases, just the opposite is true.
We noted:
‘Officially,’ viewership numbers for Fox News‘ live broadcast of President Donald Trump’s patriotic-themed July 4 “Salute to America” event in Washington, D.C. are not in, but we suspect there is a reason for that.
We suspect that the viewership numbers for the event will be, shall we say, eventful. Significant. Large.
Here’s what leads us to believe this:
— We already know that the traditional “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular” on NBC drew far fewer viewers this year compared with last year (when the president did not host a similar event).
TVLine reports:
NBC’s broadcast of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on Thursday drew 5.9 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, down 20 and 25 percent from last year’s numbers (yet still leading the suuuuper-quiet night in both measures).
Why is it still leading? Because, as the entertainment site noted later in the article, ratings for the president’s event, solely carried live on Fox News had yet to be released.
— If the president’s event had bombed even a little bit, the “mainstream” media networks would have been blaring headlines and stories all day long trumpeting that fact.
— To that last point, we find it suspicious that there are already numbers for NBC’s Macy’s broadcast…but none for the Fox News broadcast. If there wasn’t so much anti-Trump bias in the news and entertainment business (sometimes the two are hard to tell apart), and the Trump event flopped, we’d have seen them by now.
Turns out:
— The initial numbers reported by TVLine for the NBC event were wrong;
— The numbers for Trump’s event were indeed large and historic.

As The Western Journal reports:
Fox News Channel enjoyed the largest July 4th audience in its 23-year history thanks to nearly 5 million people tuning in to see President Donald Trump’s “Salute to America.”
Nielsen Media Research reported 4.8 million watched Trump’s approximately 20-minute long patriotic address and surrounding festivities broadcast live from the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Fox’s audience was over three times larger than CNN’s, which had 1.5 million viewers during the same 6:30-to-7:30 p.m. EST window.
MSNBC, which did not broadcast Trump’s speech, had an audience of 374,000.
Three major broadcast networks — ABC, NBC and CBS — also chose not to air the event.
Trump’s “Salute to America” also outperformed NBC’s Fourth of July fireworks broadcast from New York City later in the evening, which drew 3.8 million viewers.
Nielsen is the standard by which network performance is measured, so there isn’t any need to claim ‘partisanship’ here.
Even Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen argued that the president managed to make his critics look small in his “Salute to America.”
“Of all the stupid freak-outs we have experienced since Trump was elected, the hyperventilation over his Fourth of July address and celebration on the Mall may be the stupidest,” he wrote.
The president, once again, outsmarted his critics and detractors. And the Left still hasn’t figured out their old smear tactics just don’t work with this guy. And never will.
