Steve Bannon: Let Joe Biden PROVE he and his son are not compromised by China
Former top Trump adviser Steve Bannon told Fox Business Network‘s Trish Regan Monday night that it’s up to former VP Joe Biden to prove that he and his son, Hunter, are not compromised by business deals the latter has made with communist China, a declared adversary of the U.S.
According to author Peter Schweizer in his 2018 book, “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends,” Hunter Biden made a billion-dollar deal with Chinese investors just 10 days after his VP dad visited China in 2013.
Following the trip, a subsidiary of the Bank of China named Bohai Capital signed an exclusive deal with Hunter Biden and John Kerry’s stepson, Chris Heinz, via their Rosemont Capital financial firm, to form a $1 billion joint investment fund called Bohai Harvest RST. Later, the deal rose to $1.5 billion.
Not bad for a few days in Beijing.
Bannon says that Joe Biden, now a 2020 Democratic presidential contender and who is already leading the crowded field of candidates, has to come up with a better explanation than, essentially, ‘nothing to see here.’
“Joe Biden is hiding from this. We have to know how much wealth his family created off of this. We have to know why he took a billion-and-a-half dollars from an oppressive government,” said Bannon.
Biden has in recent weeks downplayed the growing animosity between the U.S. and China, even as POTUS Donald Trump ramps up tariffs against Beijing in an attempt to secure a better trade arrangement that includes ending Chinese theft of American intellectual property.
Meanwhile, the Defense Department, in its 2018 National Security Strategy, has named both China and Russia as adversaries of the United States, with China, in particular, challenging U.S. hegemony practically everywhere on the globe.
The Pentagon’s most recent National Security Strategy notes:
Long-term strategic competitions with China and Russia are the principal priorities for the Department, and require both increased and sustained investment, because of the magnitude of the threats they pose to U.S. security and prosperity today, and the potential for those threats to increase in the future.
“Joe Biden’s got to prove to the American people, number one, that he’s not compromised by the Chinese Communist Party,” Bannon said.
In a separate interview on Fox News, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a former assistant and adviser to the president, compared the Biden-China deal to the Obama administration’s “Uranium One” deal with Russia, which also involved Bill and Hillary Clinton (and lots of Clinton Foundation donations).
“The stepson of John Kerry, the son of Joseph Biden, when they were cabinet members of the Obama administration, create a new investment fund… then inked a billion-dollar deal with the Chinese government — the Bank of China,” Gorka said.
“Then, together they proceeded… to buy a U.S. manufacturing company called Henniges, making very sensitive equipment — crucial to our American military here at home. This, look, I am very rarely at a loss for words Stuart, but this is potentially one of the biggest pay-for-play scandals we have ever seen outside of Uranium One,” he added.

As part of our ongoing “Obama-Biden Scandal Series,” we have summarized the Hunter Biden-China deal, called “Joe China.”
