Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wasted no time pushing for gun control after the shooting inside a Southern California synagogue on Saturday as worshipers prepared to celebrate the last day of Passover.
One woman was killed and three others were injured in the attack.
The man, John Earnest, fled from Chabad of Poway synagogue in a car and later called 911 to say “he was just involved in the shooting,” San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit told reporters during a news conference, Fox News reports.
“Heartbroken to hear of the San Diego synagogue shooting, particularly so on this final day of Passover. We have a responsibility to love + protect our neighbors,” Cortez tweeted.
Then she went THERE.
“The longer the Senate delays holding a vote on
#HR8, the more we put Americans at risk,” she said.

The legislation expands federal background checks to include private transfers and could effectively ban Americans ages 18 to 20 from acquiring handguns. The Democratically controlled House passed HR8 in February, DCNF reports.
An off-duty border patrol agent spotted the suspect as he allegedly fled the area and the agent opened fire, authorities said.
A San Diego police officer who was on his way to the scene after hearing the call on dispatch spotted the suspect’s vehicle, according to police.
“Suspect pulled over, jumped out of his car with his hands up and was immediately taken into custody by the San Diego Police Department,” Nisleit said. “As the officer was placing this 19-year-old male into custody, he clearly saw a rifle sitting on the front passenger seat of the suspect vehicle.”
President Trump on Twitter offered his “Thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by the shooting at the Synagogue in Poway, California.”
“God bless you all,” he continued. “Suspect apprehended. Law enforcement did outstanding job. Thank you!”

He allegedly wrote a manifesto which declares that he hates President Trump and Jews.
This is a developing story.
