Nevada Democrat Accuses Joe Biden Of Sexual Harassment

By Calvin Freiburger at The Federalist Papers

Of all the Democrats either declared or considering a run for the White House, former Vice President Joe Biden is the most dangerous to President Donald Trump. He’s charismatic, part of a recent two-term administration, can fake being a normal human being, and while political junkies like us know the truth, many of Biden’s worst qualities aren’t widely known to voters in the middle.

Or at least, they were. Earlier today Lucy Flores, the 2014 Democrat nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada (and a supporter of Bernie Sanders 2020), wrote a piece at The Cut detailing an alarming — and unwanted — encounter with the former VP at a campaign event:

“As I was taking deep breaths and preparing myself to make my case to the crowd, I felt two hands on my shoulders. I froze. “Why is the vice-president of the United States touching me?”

“I felt him get closer to me from behind. He leaned further in and inhaled my hair. I was mortified. I thought to myself, “I didn’t wash my hair today and the vice-president of the United States is smelling it. And also, what in the actual fuck? Why is the vice-president of the United States smelling my hair?” He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn’t process what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked. I was confused.”

Flores goes on to write that she “had never experienced anything so blatantly inappropriate and unnerving before,” that Biden “stopped treating me like a peer the moment he touched me.” She also goes on to note that Biden’s tendency to do this sort of thing isn’t new information or even disputed.

But perhaps the most notable detail is that conservatives aren’t the only ones making that final point. Here’s a partial rundown from Vox…yes, that Vox:

Biden’s been caught on camera embracing a female reporter from behind and gripping her above her waist, just below her bust. At a swearing-in ceremony for Defense Secretary Ash Carter, Biden put his hands on the shoulders of Stephanie Carter, Carter’s wife, and then leaned in and whispered into her ear. (He’s whispered into many women’s ears.) He’s also touched women’s faces and necks during other photo ops. Once at a swearing-in ceremony for a US senator, he held the upper arm of the senator’s preteen daughter, leaned down and whispered into her ear, as she became visibly uncomfortable. Then he kissed the side of her forehead, a gesture that made the girl flinch.

Yet, as Vox’s Laura McGann admits, “overall, Biden got a pass from the political media.” it was just “Joe being Joe.”

“Neither then, nor in the years since, did he or the staff with him at the time have an inkling that Ms. Flores had been at any time uncomfortable, nor do they recall what she describes,” Biden spokesman Bill Russo lamely told Politico in response. “But Vice President Biden believes that Ms. Flores has every right to share her own recollection and reflections, and that it is a change for better in our society that she has the opportunity to do so.”

Twitter is currently lighting up with reactions to this mess:

That last one is key. The Left never cared about Biden’s behavior until now, when there’s no anointed successor to the Democrat nomination and there’s a very vocal faction of the party that desperately wants the nominee to be female and nonwhite.

In other words, in their mania, liberals just might destroy their own best shot at defeating Trump. Could America be so lucky?

Biden has spoken out about the accusations since they have been made.
