“For those that say it will never happen and come and take it, they do not have to show up to your door to take your firearms. All they have to do is change the laws and you either turn them over to your local Police Department or you are a criminal. That is the Democratic mindset and it is spreading like a cancer state-to-state.” ~ Badger
Hawaii legislators want to amend the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution in an attempt to strengthen gun control, American Military News reports.
Despite having some of the most prohibitive gun laws in the country, Hawaii lawmakers want more. They introduced the new resolution Tuesday, which calls to “clarify” the original text’s reference to a “militia,” arguing it was never intended to arm citizens, according to the Foundation for Economic Freedom.
Tuesday, Democratic lawmakers assert that:
“In light of the numerous tragic mass shootings at schools, work places, and public events, this body believes that it is necessary to repeal or amend the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Adopt a proposed amendment to the United States Constitution pursuant to article V of the United States Constitution to clarify the constitutional right to bear arms.”
Sen. Roz Baker introduced SCR No.42, and she was also responsible for SB 2954 that passed in 2016, making Hawaii the first state to add gun owners to the FBI database.
Democrats in the Hawaii Senate are calling on Congress “to consider and discuss whether the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution should be repealed or amended to clarify that the right to bear arms is a collective, rather than… https://t.co/jK59lUAeMh

In 2008, the Supreme Court ruled in the District of Columbia v. Heller case, where Justice Antonin Scalia wrote:
“The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.”
Other Firearm Bills are being introduced on state levels, such as:
Colorado police and sheriff deputies already have the authority — and use it — to confiscate guns from someone they believe is an “imminent” threat to themselves or others, Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor said this week.
Are Police trained in mental health? Do they have the education in Psychology and Sociology to make the decision on another person’s mental health? The red flag law is so flawed and the level of corruption as well as how easily it will be manipulated should have every person who lives in a Red Flag State, pissed off and demanding their state abolish the bill.
Red Flag Law requires police to temporarily confiscate a person’s guns if a judge issues an Extreme Risk Protective Order based on a complaint from police or a family member that the person is a “significant” threat to themselves or others.
Another bill people need to be aware of is:
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) is begging Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to allow a hearing on the criminalization of private gun sales. H.R. 8. You can read the exact bill here.
