A U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant arrested last week on weapons and drug charges is a white nationalist who apparently had a hit list of Democratic lawmakers and activists as well as prominent media personalities, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.
In a motion for pretrial detention filed in federal court in Maryland, authorities said Lt. Christopher Paul Hasson, 49, was arrested Friday and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and an opioid called Tramadol, Fox News reports.
However, the filing described the charges as “the proverbial tip of the iceberg,” and referred to Hasson as “a domestic terrorist” who meant to “murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country.”
Christopher Paul Hasson, 49, of Silver Spring, Maryland, is alleged to be a white supremacist who had a hit list that included prominent Democratic politicians as well as several journalists from CNN and MSNBC.
Lt. Christopher Hasson, a self-identified white supremacist for “30 plus years,” was arrested on Feb. 15 for firearm possession and for simple possession of Tramadol, according to the documents which were first reported by Seamus Hughes from George Washington University’s Program on Extremism — charges that were the “proverbial tip of the iceberg,’ U.S. Attorney Robert Hur said in the court filing.
A @gwupoe scoop: A LT in the US Coast Guard was arrested this week for drug and gun charges. It looked like a run of the mill case until the detention memo filed yesterday. He had a hit list, contacts with white supremacists, guns, and, again, was an Coastie assigned to HQ.

Opinion or fact?
“Christopher Paul Hasson only committed a technical violation by having weapons while using a controlled substance. That appears to be his one and only crime here. That weapon supply he has was in no way illegal, in and of itself, and not even close to what a true gun enthusiast would possess. But, it is spread out to look like it is some illegal weapons cache – to leftists who have never owned or handled any firearms.
1,000 rounds of ammo, a few rifles, pistols, extra magazines, etc., etc. Again, nothing surprising or illegal. And some made up “hit list”? Sounds pretty subjective! How is it a hit list, exactly? He listed the names of enemies of the Nation? Is that all? And allegedly writing to a “neo-Nazi” for a desire for a White homeland – again, nothing illegal. No evidence that he in any way moved to act on this alleged plot to kill anyone, or directly threatened anyone.
This is complete bulls*t. I hope that he finds a good criminal defense attorney to get the majority of these charges dropped. Over-reaching by the federal government, looking for evil White men. Antifa and the Communist Left (and the Black Muslims) do and say far worse than this, including on Twitter, and no one raises a finger against them.” ~ John@John20553
We have heard direct threats from Maxine Waters and other democrats as well as Hollywood ego’s, yet nothing ever happens to them. Is this just a democrat witch hunt or was this a very disturbed person with intent to carry out violence?
Tramadol is the generic name for a prescription pain reliever sold under the brand names Ultram, Conzip, Rybix ODT, and Ultram ER.
Doctors prescribe tramadol to treat moderate to severe pain in adults.
Tramadol and hydrocodone are two types of potent pain relievers called opioid analgesics. They’re often used to treat moderate to severe pain, such as long-term pain related to cancer or other chronic conditions. They can also treat pain from an injury or surgery. Hydrocodone is intended for severe chronic pain when non-opioid pain relievers, such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen, haven’t helped.
