Here’s the latest on the killing of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi, the Washington Post columnist who was murdered after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul a few weeks ago.
A United Nations spokesman says U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is “deeply troubled” by the confirmation of the violent death of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi, following Saudi Arabia’s acknowledgement that he was killed in its Istanbul consulate.
Spokesman Stephane Dujarric says Guterres “stresses the need for a prompt, thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Khashoggi’s death and full accountability for those responsible,” FOX NEWS reports.
Saudi Arabia said on Saturday that dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi died in a fight inside its Istanbul consulate, its first admission of his death after two weeks of denials that have shaken Western relations with the powerful kingdom.
“A group of Saudis had a physical altercation and Jamal died as a result of the chokehold. They were trying to keep him quiet.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told Fox the U.S. should “sanction the hell” out of Saudi Arabia and warned of “a bipartisan tsunami building here against Saudi Arabia if they did in fact (kill Khashoggi).” Graham predicted that such Saudi culpability “would be a game changer to the Nth degree.”
“With the exception of Israel, I trust every country in the Middle East as much as I trust gas station sushi,” said Sen. John Kennedy, R-La.
“Murder is murder,” thundered Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., adding that the U.S. shouldn’t “bow and scrape” just to curry favor with the Saudis.
Turkish sources say the authorities have an audio recording purportedly documenting Khashoggi’s murder inside the consulate. Government newspaper Yeni Safak, citing the audio, said his torturers cut off his fingers during an interrogation and later beheaded him.
Which goes against Saudi Arabia’s claims that his death was “an accident” by chokehold. That alone sounds like a 5 year old busted for taking a cookie, do they really expect the world to believe them, they have lied from the get go about his murder.
The story the Saudis have told about Jamal Khashoggi’s disappearance continues to change with each passing day, so we should not assume their latest story holds water.

President Trump has repeatedly discussed the $110 billion in weapons deals he announced during his visit to Saudi Arabia last year, and insisted around 500,000 U.S. jobs were at stake. Do those figures justify ignoring or simply smacking the hand of a terrorist nation? Does Khashoggi have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood?
There’s no whisper about this campaign. I’m not whispering anything about this when I’m speaking about this. I’m shouting it from the rooftops! There is no question what this is. I think anybody that pays any attention to the media knows: If the media is focusing on it, in the last 2-1/2 years, it’s because they think they can do great damage to Donald Trump with it. Pure and simple! Open and shut, front and back, that’s it! They don’t care about Khashoggi.
They want you to think they do because of the brotherhood and the brethren of journalists, but that’s not what this is. And, in the process, they’re not telling anybody who Khashoggi really was. We are. I’m attempting to tell you who he was and what he stood for. But this, in a nutshell, is an attempt to damage Donald Trump’s foreign policy by making him cave and renounce a close relationship with Saudi Arabia.
It is also about militant Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood of which Jamal Khashoggi was a practicing, active member. He went to school with Osama Bin Laden. They were buddies! But they diverged in terms of tactics. Bin Laden decided to go the terrorist route and Khashoggi went the Muslim Brotherhood route, which is… I mean, it’s pro-violent.
So when you then realize that the Saudi royal family is in charge of worldwide Islam, because the holy sites are there, Mecca and Medina. I found that it is absolutely true, that the Saudi royal family is essentially the shield and the impetus behind worldwide Islam. Well, in Saudi Arabia, the branch of Islam that is… Just to make it easy here and being understood, terrorist Islam comes from Wahhabism
The Saudis have exported this radical ideology worldwide. They have also committed war crimes in their Yemen war – a war for which American taxpayers are being used as unwitting accomplices.
Saudi Arabia is not our friend. They fund radicalism around the world. We don’t need to be arming them. They are the worst actor out there promoting terrorism.

So there you have it, the truth about Khashoggi and the truth about Saudia Arabia, which the politics behind the weapons deals and the billions of dollars between our nations, it would appear that money rules.
President Trump said he doesn’t want to scuttle a lucrative arms deal with the kingdom and noted that Khashoggi is a U.S. resident, not a citizen.
I am far more interested in why the United States is dealing with a nation that is openly radical Islam and how we can claim we are fighting terrorists and at the same time selling them weapons.
This is not a hit piece on President Trump, I support Trump and the Red Wave full force, but that does not mean that the tough questions should not be asked.
