All five New Mexico compound suspects were indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday on firearms and conspiracy charges, less than two weeks after they were arrested by the FBI, officials announced.
The indictment charged the suspects –- Jany Leveille, 35, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, 40, Hujrah Wahhaj, 37, Subhanah Wahhaj, 35, and Lucas Morton, 40 – “with conspiring knowingly to provide an alien illegally and unlawfully in the United States, possession of firearms and ammunition,” a news release from the District of New Mexico’s U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
“The indictment further alleges that, between December 2017 and August 2018, the defendants established a training camp and firing range in Taos County, where they stored firearms and ammunition and engaged in firearms and tactical training as part of their common plan to prepare for violent attacks on government, military, educational, and financial institutions.
If convicted on the conspiracy charge, the five defendants each face a statutory penalty of five years of imprisonment. If convicted on the firearms charge, Leveille faces a statutory maximum penalty of ten years of imprisonment and deportation upon completion of her sentence. ” ~ United States District Attorney’s Office
The 5 were arrested a day after a New Mexico judge dropped all state charges and they were released, the FBI then went after them and arrested them and levied federal charges on them.
It is beyond baffling that they have not hit them with terrorism charges, it is blatantly clear that the Islamic compound planned to carry out attacks against U.S. civilians as well as government agents.
That is what America needs to demand answers from the FBI over as well as why they are not going after the other compounds that the teenagers from the compound told the FBI about during their investigation.
TAOS, N.M. ~ A 13-year-old boy who was part of group taken into custody at a squalid New Mexico compound last month has told FBI agents his mother’s boyfriend was training him to conduct “jihad” against non-believers, according to federal court documents.
