BREAKING: Police Officer SHOT At WALMART

COVINGTON, Ga. – Right Wing Tribune is reporting that a police officer has been shot at a Walmart in Covington.

Police said they responded to a call for shoplifting at the store.

Covington police confirmed the incident happened around 1 p.m. at the store along Industrial Boulevard.

According to WSB-TV, the responding officer came under fire when he encountered the suspects behind the store.

Two suspects are in custody and another is dead. The officer was airlifted to a hospital—condition unknown.

When they arrived, officers said three suspects ran behind the store into a wooded area and started firing at the officer. Channel 2’s Aaron Diamant confirmed one officer was shot in the head.

“This is something we all pray every day will never happen but here we are. It is very heavy on all our hearts. Please pray for our officer.”

One of the suspects was also shot and died in the parking lot. It is unknown whether he was shot by police, another suspect or if the gunshot was self-inflicted.

The other two suspects are in custody.
