Pakistan’s new foreign minister said he will “have exchanges” with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo over Washington’s cancellation of a $300 million disbursement for the Pakistani military when he visits Islamabad on Wednesday.
Adopting a tougher line with an ally that U.S. President Donald Trump considers unreliable, the United States halted the disbursement of Coalition Support Funds due to Islamabad’s perceived failure to take decisive action against Afghan Taliban militants operating from Pakistani soil. Reuters reports.
In total, President Trump has stopped paying over $800 million this year to the terrorist organization that previous administrations paid into quarterly.
“On the 5th, the American (secretary of state) Pompeo will be arriving, and we will have a chance to sit down with him. There will be exchanges. We will take our mutual respect for each other into consideration and move forward.” Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi
Now that we have been cutting the funds as the truth comes out about the funds going towards terrorist organizations that are anti-America, which Pakistan is notoriously corrupt and deeply linked to terrorist organizations. Now they say it is their money and we have no right to keep it from them.
“It is not aid. It is not assistance, which was suspended. This the money, which we have spent. This is our money. We have spent it, We did it for our betterment, which they had to reimburse.” ~ Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi
Here is the blunt truth on why we even started paying Pakistan any funds in the 1st place. The United States needed a route into Afghanistan for our military, that route comes through Pakistan, which they demanded funds to allow to use.
