Chris “Badger” Thomas RIGHT WING TRIBUNE–
An Antifa protest in Berkeley turned violent Sunday when one masked group member sucker-punched a detractor and other agitators smashed the windows at a Marine Corps recruiting post.
The Portland Police Bureau said Friday that demonstrators should expect to see a significant police presence including bomb-sniffing dogs and checkpoints where weapon screenings will occur.
“I continue to strongly reject the idea that violence or hate speech are legitimate means to a political end,” Mayor Ted Wheeler said, adding that he and the Portland police chief “have serious concerns about the potential for violence” at the events. RWT News
Antifa is still going strong and all over our nation, the difference is, the “left” leaning news refuses to report on them and their violence.

Besides the damage to the Marine Corps post, Berkeley police also said “an extremist element among a large group” damaged 21 city vehicles, setting one on fire, and slashed their tires. The group also set fires in trash bins, which were extinguished quickly. Officials did not identify the “extremist element.”
Antifa is a radical-leftist politics of social revolution applied to fighting the far right. Its adherents are predominantly communists, socialists and anarchists who reject turning to the police or the state to halt the advance of white supremacy.

Antifa traces its roots to the 1920s and ’30s, when militant leftists battled fascists in the streets of Germany, Italy, and Spain. When fascism withered after World War II, antifa did too. But in the ’70s and ’80s, neo-Nazi skinheads began to infiltrate Britain’s punk scene. After the Berlin Wall fell, neo-Nazism also gained prominence in Germany. In response, a cadre of young leftists, including many anarchists and punk fans, revived the tradition of street-level antifascism.
In the late ’80s, left-wing punk fans in the United States began following suit, though they initially called their groups Anti-Racist Action, on the theory that Americans would be more familiar with fighting racism than fascism. According to Mark Bray, the author of the forthcoming Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, these activists toured with popular alternative bands in the ’90s, trying to ensure that neo-Nazis did not recruit their fans. In 2002, they disrupted a speech by the head of the World Church of the Creator, a white-supremacist group in Pennsylvania; 25 people were arrested in the resulting brawl. The Atlantic
Since President Trump was elected to office, Antifa has been throwing their temper tantrums and shamefully carrying out violence and cowardly acts across our nation.
