U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrests Fugitive Wanted for Harrisburg Homicide |
Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Charles Williams, 41, in Williamstown, PA.
On March 24, 2018, Harrisburg Police were called to Double D’s Bar on 19th Street for a report of shots fired. Responding officers found two individuals in the parking lot, each with multiple gunshot wounds. Both were transported to area hospitals. One of them, Jawan Washington, 20, was later pronounced deceased. Through the investigation, the Harrisburg Police idendified Charles Williams, as the suspect. On March 27, Harrisburg Police obtained a warrant charging Williams with Criminal Homicide, Possession Of A Firearm and Murder Of The First Degree and requested the assistance of the U.S Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend him. This afternoon, the USMS Task Force located Williams at an apartment on the 100 Block of Maple Lane in Williamstown. The Dauphin County Critical Response Team was deployed and after several hours, they were able to convince Williams to surrender. United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “This fugitive put the community and law enforcement at risk. I commend the fugitive task force for their diligence in apprehending Williams before someone else got seriously hurt.” During this fugitive investigation, the USMS worked jointly with officers from the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, Pennsylvania State Police, Swatara Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. |
