Son Convicted of Carjacking His Seventy-Five-Year-Old Mother
Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen’s Elder Abuse Unit obtained multiple convictions against a man who carjacked and assaulted his elderly mother and physically disabled brother.
Kevin Vernard Lane, 53, was convicted of Carjacking, Robbery, Domestic Assault, and several more misdemeanors. Judge Bob McGee set the case for sentencing on July 20.
In a three-day trial, Assistant District Attorney Andrea Kline and Deputy District Attorney Leland Price explained to the jury that on May 4, 2017, Lane entered his mother’s home without permission, shoved his seventy-five-year-old mother, grabbed her arm, which caused bruising, and broke her glasses.
Lane also shoved his physically disabled brother to the ground, punched him in the chest, and kicked him in the leg. Lane then took the keys to his mother’s vehicle and left the scene. The victims called the Knoxville Police Department who found and arrested Lane.
Lane has five prior felony convictions for Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Burglary, and Theft. He also has several misdemeanor convictions for Domestic Assault, Theft, Resisting Arrest, and drug offenses.
Because of his criminal history, Lane is facing between twenty and thirty years in prison on the Carjacking conviction.
This scumbag needs to be put in front of a firing squad.
He is obviously completely useless.
