Arizona Senate candidate Kelli Ward launched a new campaign ad reiterating her support for President Donald Trump’s promise to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico Border with Mexico after a Border Patrol agent was shot in the Tucson Sector on Tuesday, Breitbart reports.
“Securing our border isn’t just about illegal immigration,” Ward says in the ad, which includes a photo of the Arizona Daily Star headline: Tuscon Border Agent Shot and Wounded Near Arizona-Mexico Border. “It’s about stopping dangerous drugs, illegal weapons, and human trafficking.”

In the wake of June 12th’s shooting of an Arizona border patrol agent in Santa Cruz County, the Ward for Senate campaign today released its new digital ad, “Relentless,” highlighting Dr. Kelli Ward’s commitment to securing our border and protecting Arizonans from violent drug cartels and human traffickers.
Kelli Ward is an American politician and osteopathic physician. A Republican, she was elected in 2012 to serve in the Arizona State Senate. Ward challenged incumbent U.S. Senator John McCain in the Republican primary for the United States Senate in 2016. She resigned from the State Senate to focus on the U.S. Senate race; Ward was defeated 51% to 39%.
TUCSON, Ariz. – A U.S. Border Patrol agent was injured in the early morning hours of Tuesday,June 12, while investigating sensor activity on foot near Ruby Road and Chimney Canyon, south of Arivaca, Arizona.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., the agent called for emergency assistance from his patrol vehicle’s service radio. Initial indications are that the agent was attacked by an unknown number of assailants, one of whom fired several shots at the agent in close proximity. The agent was struck several times and it is believed that he returned fire.
