BREAKING – U.S. President Donald Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in reaching an agreement to work toward de-nuclearization of the Korean peninsula, BLOOMBERG/FORTUNE reports.
The U.S leader was nominated by two members of Norway’s governing Progress Party, according to state broadcaster NRK. The deadline for this year’s prize passed in January, so this nomination would make him eligible for next year. It is unclear whether he was nominated for this year’s prize.
Also, a group of 18 House Republicans have nominated President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize, NATASHA BACH reported.
The lawmakers sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, arguing for Trump’s nomination for his efforts to denuclearize North Korea and end the Korean War.
Rep. Luke Messer (R-Ind.) led the effort, gaining the support of other Republicans representatives, including Mark Meadows, Marsha Blackburn, Matt Gaetz, Diane Black, and Steve King.
They touted Trump’s “tireless” work “to apply maximum pressure to North Korea to end its illicit weapons programs and bring peace to the region.”
“His Administration successfully united the international community, including China, to impose one of the most successful international sanctions regimes in history,” the letter continues. “The sanctions have decimated the North Korean economy and have been largely credited for bringing North Korea to the negotiating table.”
Mac Slavo at SHTFplan.com reports that while supporters of the President are praising the nomination as evidence of Trump’s good will and desire to maintain stability and world peace on the Korean Peninsula, not everyone agrees.
Leading left-leaning web site The Huffington Post highlighted in a headline that the lawmakers who voted for trump were part of Norway’s far right:
Does Pres. Trump deserve the Nobel Prize? “Everyone thinks so, but I would never say it,” Pres. Trump says. “The prize I want is victory for the world.”

The Twitter-verse immediately pounced on the news with varying opinions:

The nomination is for the 2019 prize. If Trump were to win, he’d be the fifth American president to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He would join Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama.
According to its website, the Nobel Peace Prize is given to the person “who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”
How great would it be if Trump won the Nobel Peace Prize?
The liberals would absolutely freak out and there would be non stop rioting!
