The fight over who gets what portion of sand continues…
Anbar, IRAQ – An ISIS suicide bomber has been killed, south of Ramadi, Anbar, the special operations command said today.
Speaking to AlSumaria News, Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Falahi, commander of Anbar Operations, said “Anbar police managed to kill a suicide attacker wearing a suicide belt in al-Tash al-Oula region, south of Ramadi.”
Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country, Iraqi News reports.
Yesterday we reported that Saraya Al-Salam brigades affiliated with Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr said on Tuesday that its fighters killed 13 ISIS militants during a military operation between Anbar and Salahuddin provinces.
“A wide-scale military operation dubbed the Great Badr was launched in cooperation with the Iraqi army to eliminate Islamic State militants in different areas between Anbar and Salahuddin provinces,” Iraqi website Baghdad Today quoted the pro-Sadr brigades as saying in a statement.
“Thirteen Islamic State militants were killed as a result of the operation,” the statement read.
Last week, Eight Islamic State members were killed in airstrike launched by the Iraqi army in al-Ogeirsha region in the desert of Hit town, west of Ramadi. Earlier in May, the Iraqi military intelligence department announced foiling a terrorist scheme against troops in the desert of Anbar province. On the same day, a paramilitary leader was quoted saying that Iraqi army warplanes killed seven Islamic State militants after bombarding their locations in Wadi Jaal in Hit, west of Anbar.
Thousands of Islamic State militants as well as Iraqi civilians were killed since the government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and the coalition was launched in October 2016 to fight the militant group, which declared a self-styled “caliphate” from Mosul in June 2014.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi announced, in December, full liberation of Iraqi lands, declaring end of war against ISIS members.
There is no doubt that when President Trump took office, ISIS has been annihilated on a daily basis.
Leading from behind? Only a jackass like Hussein Obama would take that approach.
