|Triple Homicide Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force|
|San Juan, PR – The U.S. Marshals Service led Puerto Rico Violent Offenders Task Force (PRVOTF) in the District of Puerto Rico arrested a man wanted on a federal narcotics violation warrant and in connection with a triple homicide.
Jose Jimenez Echevarria aka: “Cuba” was a top ten most wanted by the U.S. Marshals in Puerto Rico for a federal narcotic warrant from a 2017 FBI indictment. In addition, Puerto Rico Police developed information connecting Cintron to a triple homicide that occurred at a local restaurant in October 20, 2017 in the town of Bayamon, PR, as well as other violent crimes.
After a five month long investigation PRVOTF located Jimenez at a local convenience store on Winston Churchill avenue in San Juan. When U.S. Marshals proceeded to apprehend Jimenez they noticed Jimenez was in the companion of two other men. Jimenez and the other two men attempted to run away, but were quickly apprehended. Support was provided by members of the Puerto Rico Police Special Arrest Unit and the San Juan Police Department.
During the arrest several vehicles, four 9mm and .40 Glock pistols with full auto devices attached and over fifteen loaded high capacity magazines were seized by federal and local authorities.
One of the suspects arrested was currently on federal supervised release. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) assume jurisdiction of the arrestee.

PRVOTF believed Jimenez was hiding in different locations throughout the island, after he was featured by the local media, as one of the US Marshals and Puerto Rico Police most wanted.
Orlando Rivera, U.S. Marshal for the District of Puerto Rico indicated that “This arrest is a testament to the outstating investigative work and tireless efforts of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Puerto Rico Violent Offenders Task Force and our local partners who worked together to bring this dangerous fugitive to justice and make our streets safer, especially during this time of crisis in Puerto Rico”.
The PRVOTF is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of investigators from the Puerto Rico Police Department, San Juan Municipal Police, PR Department of Corrections, PR State Marshals and the State Internal Revenue Service.
