National Guard members have begun arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border as requested last week by President Trump, but California’s Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown is still mum on whether his state will participate in the deployment, FOX News reports.
California and Jerry Brown have been against President Trump from the start and now, the fight over the National Guard units deploying to the border, has California one again fighting a Presidential Order.
A San Diego lawmaker is calling on people across California to rise up and join a federal lawsuit targeting the state’s sanctuary laws.
“California has become a rogue state,” San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob said on the Todd Starnes Radio show. “Illegal immigration is wrong. There is a legal way to come into this country and that should be upheld.”
She called on Gov. Jerry Brown to comply with the Trump administration’s request to send National Guard troops to the border – calling it a “national defense issue.”
“The border needs to be secured to stop the illegal flow of drugs and humans across the border,” she said. “California needs to comply with federal law.” Fox News
Republican governors of Texas, Arizona and New Mexico on Monday committed 1,600 Guard members to the border, giving the White House many of the troops it requested to fight what Trump has called a “crisis at our southern border.”
California has refused, to this point, to even reply to President Trump’s order to send National Guard soldiers to the Mexico border.

The Justice Department announced Friday that it is implementing a “zero-tolerance” policy for prosecuting those attempting to enter the U.S. illegally — the latest in a series of measures by the Trump administration to combat illegal immigration. RWT NEWS REPORT

Defense Secretary James Mattis on Friday night approved funding for up to 4,000 National Guard troops for duty along the border with Mexico. The Pentagon will pay for the operation through the end of September. RWT News Report on Mattis
