YouTube is entering the gun control debate with a new ban on videos which demo firearms or link to websites selling firearms or firearm accessories, Breitbart reports.
YouTube has always been a platform for people to upload videos of all types, a platform where people have instructional videos, a platform where people go for helpful tips from everything from video game help to cooking to firearm safety and instructional videos.
Now YouTube has jumped on the bandwagon with those who desire to abolish your freedoms, Bill of Rights and wish to impeach or overthrow President Trump.
The video platform published new guidelines on Monday that ban videos showing how to assemble a firearm or install certain accessories such as high-capacity magazines.
The new regulations, first reported by Bloomberg, come as the Google-owned platform has come under criticism for lax policies regarding what content users can post.
“We routinely make updates and adjustments to our enforcement guidelines across all of our policies. While we’ve long prohibited the sale of firearms, we recently notified creators of updates we will be making around content promoting the sale or manufacture of firearms and their accessories, specifically, items like ammunition, gatling triggers, and drop-in auto sears,” a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement, WGN 9 News Reports.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation said that they fear that this is a umbrella censorship that will allow far more power to YouTube to prohibit firearm videos of any nature.
“We suspect it will be interpreted to block much more content than the stated goal of firearms and certain accessory sales. We see the real potential for the blocking of educational content that serves instructional, skill-building and even safety purposes. Much like Facebook, YouTube now acts as a virtual public square. The exercise of what amounts to censorship, then, can legitimately be viewed as the stifling of commercial free speech.” ~ NSSF
“Well, since we’ve melted some snowflakes on YouTube and got banned, might as well set IG and FB on fire!,” Spike’s wrote on Facebook, where it has over 111,000 followers, referring to the social network and its Instagram app. A YouTube spokeswoman said the channel has been reinstated after it was mistakenly removed.
The new YouTube policies will be enforced starting in April, but at least two video bloggers have already been affected. Spike’s Tactical, a firearms company, said in a post on Facebook that it was suspended from YouTube due to “repeated or severe violations” of the video platform’s guidelines.
The firearms decision comes just days before Saturday’s, Match For Our Lives, a protest organized by Womens March Group.
The same lunatic group that lead the anti-Trump protest and March against President Trump nationwide, while wearing the “Pink Vagina” hats, The Women’s March Organization, is also leading the national Walk Out against guns on March 14th.
The crazy Women’s March group created a youth group for their organization, called EMPOWER. They manipulated the children and created this bogus group to justify their hate and to push their agenda on our children. AFF News Report
The Women’s March group is also led by radicals such as co-president Tamika D. Mallory, who attended an anti-Semitic speech by Farrakhan last weekend in which he specifically praised her from the podium. Farrakhan declared that “the Jews have control over agencies of government,” among other inflammatory remarks.
More of the Women’s March leaders have also expressed admiration for Farrakhan; co-chair Carmen Perez called him an “inspirational individual.”
Islam co-chair Linda Sarsour, an anti-Israel firebrand who called for a “jihad” against the Trump administration, and who says women who protest radical Islam should have their vaginas taken away, also praised Farrakhan in the past.
“March for Our Lives, a national march on Washington, D.C., is set for March 24 and another National School Walkout Day is scheduled for April 20, the 19th anniversary of the shooting at Columbine High School.”
For those claiming that this violates the 1st Amendment and that this is blatant censorship, you are correct, to a point.
The First Amendment protects public institutions from having to compromise the ideals of free speech by establishing a framework that defines critical rights and responsibilities. It protects the freedom of speech, thought, and inquiry, and advocates respect for the right of others to do the same. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis wisely guides the American people to resort to “more speech not enforced silence” in seeking to resolve our differences in values, sensibilities, and offenses.
The First Amendment’s constitutional right of free speech, which is also applied to the states, only prevents government restrictions on speech, not restrictions imposed by private individuals or businesses. ALA.org
What is Censorship?
Censorship is the suppression of ideas and information that certain persons — individuals, groups, or government officials — find objectionable or dangerous. It is no more complicated than someone saying, “Don’t let anyone read this book, or buy that magazine, or view that film, because I object to it!” Censors try to use the power of the state to impose their view of what is truthful and appropriate, or offensive and objectionable, on everyone else. Censors pressure public institutions, like libraries, to suppress and remove information they judge inappropriate or dangerous from public access, so that no one else has the chance to read or view the material and make up their own minds about it. The censor wants to prejudge materials for everyone.
YouTube quietly introduced tighter restrictions on videos involving weapons, becoming the latest battleground in the U.S. gun-control debate, they said the enforcement will start in April of this year.
