BREAKING: 9 Muslim TERRORISTS Just Arrested! Here’s What We Know

Mosul,IRAQ — Nine Islamic State members were arrested in an operation, west of Mosul, Nineveh Operations Command announced on Wednesday.

In a statement, Maj. Gen. Hamad Names al-Jabouri, commander of Nineveh Operations, said “the Rapid Response Forces carried out an operation in several districts in the western side of Mosul, arresting nine ISIS members.”

On Tuesday, Jabouri was quoted saying that Nineveh police managed, during an operation, to arrest 20 ISIS members in Souq al-Maash region, west of Mosul.

Earlier this week, BasNews reported quoted a source from Nineveh Operations Command as saying that two senior IS leaders were arrested in Mosul as Iraqi troops continue to hunt for dormant IS cells across the country. One of them was the IS so-called finance minister, who was apprehended in an operation, north of the city. Another IS member, who was in charge of planting bombs in the eastern and northern axes of Mosul, was also arrested.

Right Wing Tribune reported that 21  people, including children, were killed and injured in an attack that targeted two families, south of Kirkuk, a source from Tuz Khurmatu hospital said on Tuesday.

Speaking to Baghdad Today website, the source said, “the death toll of the attack have reached six victims, while fifteen others were wounded.”

Earlier today, a security source said several people were killed and injured in attack by unidentified gunmen in south of Kirkuk, Iraqi News reports.

“Gunmen coming from behind Tuz Khurmatu mountains attacked a vehicle carrying two families who were on way back from a trip in the north,” the source said.

The attackers, according to the source, “opened fire against the vehicle leaving a child and a man killed, while others were wounded.

The news came after news reports quoted sources as saying that two families in addition to driver of a vehicle that transfers crude oil were killed in a fake checkpoint set up in south of Kirkuk.

Meanwhile, Right Wing Tribune previously reported that over 15 civilians, mostly women and children, were killed while 30 others injured in the Iraqi city of Fallujah over the past few months as bombs left by Islamic State (ISIS) militants went off in different parts in the city, a well-placed official was quoted as saying Sunday.

Speaking to Basnews website, Fallujah’s Mayor Issa al-Sayer said “IS militants have left many explosive charges and booby-trapped houses at al-Shohada and al-Nuaimiya districts in southern Fallujah after Iraqi troops forced them out of the city in June 2016.”

Sayer warned that the ISIS bombs “mainly target civilians, who return to their homes in southern Fallujah following the country’s victory over the militant group last year.”

The mayor called on the Iraqi government to step up efforts to eliminate all war leftovers in Iraq and provide additional equipment to detect bombs to prevent the fall of more victims, Iraqi News reports.

ISIS has become notorious for its brutality, including mass killings, abductions and beheadings, prompting the U.S. to lead an international coalition to destroy it.

Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses a threat against stability in the country.

The Iraqi capital has seen almost daily bombings and armed attacks against security members, paramilitary troops and civilians since the Iraqi government launched a wide-scale campaign to retake Islamic State-occupied areas in 2016.

Though most of the daily bombings go without a claim of responsibility, Islamic State has declared it had been behind many.

Thousands of ISIS militants as well as Iraqi civilians were killed since the government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and the coalition was launched in October 2016 to fight the militant group, which declared a self-styled “caliphate” from Mosul in June 2014.

As many as 3,298 civilians were killed and 4,781 others were wounded in 2017.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi announced, in December, full liberation of Iraqi lands, declaring end of war against ISIS members.

Will this war ever actually end?

God Bless.
