UNITED NATIONS/SEOUL – The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, warned North Korea on Tuesday against staging another missile test and said Washington would not take any talks between North and South Korea seriously if they did not do something to get Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons, Reuters Reports.
With all the insanity surrounding North Korea and President Trump, with the two engaging in a war on words, the U.N. still believes in diplomacy and sanctions to stifle North Korea’s nuclear warheads.
According to Nikki Haley, the United States is hearing chatter about more North Korea missile tests in the very near future.
Why would President Trump’s administration continue to pursue diplomacy and sanctions on North Korea? North Korea has ignored every sanction placed upon them as well as blatantly stated they will never give up their nuclear warheads.
Here we go again, according to the report released by Reuters, Haley stated the following:
“I hope that doesn’t happen. But if it does, we must bring even tougher measures to bear against the North Korean regime.”
Also being reported is that North Korea has agreed to talk with South Korea, which Haley shut down any rumors that the United States was willing to participate in said talks. Haley boldly stated that the United States will not even consider the talks or take them seriously, until North Korea gives up their nuclear weapons.
This draws another line in the sand between the United States and North Korea, a line in which North Korea will ignore and then the Trump administration will have to deal with. (as with every single sanction placed upon them)
The blunt truth of what has transpired is that South Korea came out and offered talks with North Korea over their nuclear program, without any agreement from the U.N. or United States.
Kim Jong Un, on New Years Day, said that he is “open” to talks with South Korea, however, North Korea will continue with mass production of their nuclear warheads.
The nutjob also said he would like North Korean Athletes to participate in the Winter Olympics next month, which will be in South Korea.
The United States will have nothing to do with any “talks” with North Korea nor will we accept anything North Korea proposes, until North Korea gives up ALL nuclear warheads and ICBM’s.
“North Korea can talk to anyone they want, but the U.S. is not going to recognize it or acknowledge it until they agree to ban the nuclear weapons that they have.” ~ Nikki Haley
IF the United States and Trump administration are going to continue to focus on diplomacy and not carry out any offensive military operations, then they will need to enforce the sanctions placed against North Korea.
To date, the sanctions have been ignored and no real action has been dealt to North Korea for their blatant disregard for the U.N. sanctions.
Until that happens, North Korea will never take the sanctions and the United States as a serious threat.
